Olvera Street is part of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument and it was developed in 1930. It is a historical part of Downtown Los Angeles, California. Many of the Plaza District’s historic buildings are on Olvera Street, together with some of the oldest Los Angeles monuments. A tree-lined, walk-thru marketplace complete with shops, restaurants, and even mariachi singers is a popular tourist attraction. People stroll through the marketplace daily, listening to the sounds mariachi music. Sometimes you can catch a glimpse of Aztecs and Mexican folkloric dancers. You’ll also find handcrafted items such as belts, wallets, purses, leather, pottery and Mexican folk art at any one of the quaint little shops here.

Olvera Street was once a part of Los Angeles history and the center of Los Angeles during Spanish-owned times. Among the many restaurants you’ll find are Mr. Churro, featuring their delicious churros. In the mood for something different? No problem. Just walk a block over to the world-famous Philippe’s. You’ll love their amazing lamb French dip sandwich.

Olvera Street is adjacent to both Union Station and Chinatown. It is between Main and Alameda Streets and consists of the Plaza and the church. The street itself is home to vendors, restaurants, and other historic sites.

Olvera Street is 21 minutes to Los Angeles International Airport and 28 minutes to Port of Los Angeles.
