The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the most famous landmarks around the world. There are 24 recipients each year and each event is broadcast around the world, thus making the Walk of Fame a huge visitor draw.
The Walk is a tribute to the people who persevered to be able to develop the Walk and to continue the legend of this world-class visitor attraction. It is made up of of 2,600 terrazzo and brass stars inlayed in the sidewalks of 15 blocks in Hollywood.The stars are everlasting public monuments, literally set in stone, representing achievement in the entertainment industry. It shows the names of actors, music artists, directors, suppliers, musical and theatrical organizations, imaginary characters, and others who contributed to the arts. The Walk of Fame is maintained by the Hollywood Chamber of Business.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame attracts about ten million visitors every year. This is more than the Sunset Strip, TCL Chinese Theater, the Queen Mary, and the Los Angeles Museum Art. It is a main contributor towards producing tourism in an important industry in Los Angeles.
